Lakshmi is an impact investor, serial entrepreneur, and investor in the family
office space. Currently, he manages two family offices: LNR Family Office (LNR)
and the Patel Family Office as principal and managing director. The family
offices own more than 400 hotel properties, 3,000 plus housing keys, and 27
healthcare clinics, across the United States. The family offices have land holding
assets of approximately 25,000 acres across multiple U.S. states.
Lakshmi has invested in over 150 startups through the family office and as an
individual. The investments span countries and regions such as North America,
Middle East, India, Singapore, and Australia. He is also active as a general
partner of various funds, operating entities, and non-profit boards.
Lakshmi was recently named Chairman of the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute
(SWFI), a think tank and research platform devoted to global asset owners. He is
also Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Homz Global, a U.S. housing company
that is constructing 75,000 housing units. He is a Board Member and Managing
Partner of Greatx, a digital asset wealth creation platform seeking to
tokenize $1 billion worth of real estate branded hotels and apartments in the
U.S.Previously, Lakshmi founded a real estate fund in India which he exited in 2011,
he exited in 2012 a large Indian real estate underwriting company, underwrote
and managed $8 billion of assets, partially exited in 2017 a major Indian education
entity, and exited in 2017 an India-based franchise advisory company.
Lakshmi is a Senior Executive Fellow of the Harvard Kennedy Public School and
has a postgraduate degree from the London School of Economics and another
degree from the University of Wales (U.K.).
