A committed leader with over 25 years of experience in the Middle East, Europe, Australia and Asia markets, Liam Findlay is the Chief Executive Officer of Miral Destinations. He leads the trusted one-stop destination partner that started with Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island and Saadiyat Island and today, thanks to an increased remit testament to Liam’s success, includes Qasr al Watan and teamLab Phenomena.
Liam’s remit as CEO is to scale international demand, develop global trade networks, and align with national tourism outcomes for Abu Dhabi’s flagship destinations. He has the overall responsibility for developing and implementing the destinations’ tourism and marketing strategy locally as well as in internationally including GCC, India, India, UK, China and Russia leisure and business markets. Liam leads with his vision of putting guest experience at the heart of everything Miral does, to ensure its assets are the best globally.
During his time at the helm, he has developed a highly impactful professional sales & marketing function at Miral Destinations, as well as the award-winning Yas Concierge team that is at the core of the organization’s strategy to increase visitation and increase economic impact for Yas Island and Abu Dhabi Tourism. No longer a vision, but a success story, Liam increased visitation from 1.5M to 3.5M in under two years with results for Miral-managed assets continuing to surpass records year-on-year, encouraging global travelers to explore Abu Dhabi and its always-evolving offerings.
Since assuming the role of CEO in 2019, Liam has overseen a number of landmark initiatives that have accelerated the recognition of Abu Dhabi’s destination offering on the world stage. Recently this includes the launch of teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, a ground-breaking immersive art space and the largest teamLab offering globally and 2023’s SeaWorld® Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, the world’s largest indoor marine life theme park. Most notable of all is May 2025’s announcement of Disney Abu Dhabi, Disney’s first-ever theme park in the Middle East and the year’s most prominent destination announcement globally. He will also oversee the upcoming Harry Potter theme expansion coming to Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi in 2029.He has also spearheaded high-profile celebrity campaigns, such as Yas Island’s Chief Island Officer, enlisting A-List names like Ryan Reynonds, Jason Momoa, Kevin Hart, Shaquille O’Neal and most recently the 1.7B-reach “Zindagi Ko Yas Bol” India campaign featuring Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan.Prior to his C-Suite role, Liam was Miral Destinations’ VP of Sales, Marketing and PR, where he drove revenue growth and launched major attractions including Warner Bros. World™ and CLYMB™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi while elevating Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld, Abu Dhabi as leading parks in the region. Prior to this he was Vice President of Marketing at Atlantis The Palm, Dubai, from 2010-2017 where he led brand strategy and positioned the resort as a global destination.
